I offer a safe, gradual and gentle approach to improving a body condition from the inside out.

Improve balance, posture, hip strength, body mechanics and strength for walking and daily activities. Suitable for beginners and individuals with osteoarthritis who are active but feel stiff and sore; these classes include mat and chair exercises, and a relaxation component to quiet the mind.

Weekly classes can help you to:

  • Increase mobility of arthritic joints

  • Improve your gait when you walk

  • Reclaim muscle tone and height in a gentle and gradual way

  • Strengthen your body, improve balance and gait (walking)

  • Improve functional movement, posture and flexibility

  • Become more pro-active with your self-care

  • Continue to care for yourself after completing a physiotherapy treatment plan

  • Learn how to relax and quiet your mind

  • Feel better, breathe better

  • Accelerate healing. Yoga therapy complements manual therapies like massage, osteopathy & chiropractic care.

  • Adjust the yoga exercises to maintain healthy posture and avoid unnecessary injury.

Classes are for you if you want to improve a body condition like:

  • Mild low back, neck and/or shoulder pain.

  • Mild arthritis, or you are stiff/sore and want a gradual approach to strengthening and stretching.

  • Mild forms of: sciatica, scoliosis, arthritis, degenerative disc.

  • For more severe conditions consider a private class with Joanne.

  • And if you are over 50. Average age of participant is over 65.

  • If you had a hip or knee replacement you can still take this class.

  • You have enough mobility to lay down on a mat and come up to standing on your own and down again in your own time.

NOTE: This is not chair yoga but chairs are sometimes used for sitting exercises and stability when

                     standing.

Consider private classes and/or an osteopathic session for individualized assessment and treatment if you are uncertain about your ability to join a group class.
